Safeguarding
Safeguarding Statement
The Dave Network by Mente Hermosa CIC aims to create safer, stigma-free spaces for men and communities. Safeguarding is part of how we plan events, respond to concerns and work with partners.
Immediate danger
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. If someone needs urgent emotional support in the UK and Ireland, Samaritans can be reached free on 116 123.
Our approach
- We take concerns about harm, abuse, exploitation, neglect, self-harm and suicide risk seriously.
- We aim to respond calmly, respectfully and without shame.
- We will signpost to appropriate support where a concern is outside our role.
- We may share information if needed to protect someone from serious harm or meet a legal duty.
Events and community spaces
Events are intended to be low-pressure and respectful. We expect people to treat each other with dignity. Behaviour that threatens, harasses, exploits or puts others at risk may lead to someone being asked to leave or being excluded from future activity.
Not a crisis service
The Dave Network is not an emergency, clinical or crisis service. We can offer community connection, events, mentoring routes, training and signposting, but urgent risk should always be handled through emergency or specialist support.
Raise a concern
Email mentehermosacic@gmail.com with safeguarding concerns or questions. If there is immediate risk, call 999 first.
